Queen Kamarla — Voice of Trench Town. Reggae royalty rising from the Jungle to the world stage. Storyteller. Author. Humanitarian.
From the Jungle
to the World Stage

“People see the music, but they don’t always see the struggle behind it. This book is my truth — my journey, my sacrifices and my growth.”
Born Kamarla Pitter on July 9, 1983, the woman the world now calls Queen Kamarla — and fittingly, Platinum Sheriff — came up the hard way. Her mother, Ms. Rose, took her three children out of an abusive home in Portmore and ended up raising them in Trench Town, the very soil that grew Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer.
Poverty forced her out of school after ninth grade. She became a mother at fifteen. But the music in her never quieted. Inspired by Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and most deeply by Garnet Silk — whom she still calls her musical mentor — she sharpened her craft on school stages, then alongside reggae greats Sugar Minott and Horace Andy.
Out of those sessions came her own imprint, Catalyst Entertainment Group— a launchpad. From Sting 2012 to Peter Tosh and Bob Marley anniversaries, from Ghetto Splash to Sun City Summer Jam, she has earned her crown the hard way: one decision, one song, one stage at a time.

Moments & Movement
A Queen’s Heart
The crown is heavy — but it’s love that lifts it.
Stop the Crime & Violence
Queen Kamarla promoted the Stop the Crime & Violence concert series, taking music as a vehicle of peace into some of Kingston’s most volatile neighborhoods. The series brought rival communities together under one stage, one rhythm.
For the Children
When her son Kavon was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, Kamarla turned grief into action — organizing fundraisers and rallying well-wishers to bring him home healthy. That experience deepened her commitment to childhood health, youth mentorship, and giving Trench Town’s next generation a real shot.
“I’m not stopping. I know where I’m going, and I’m working every day to get there.”
Catalyst Entertainment Group
Founded by Queen Kamarla — a launchpad to greatness for artists rising out of the same streets that raised her.
